How to get from Batumi Airport to the city
The airport sits about 2 km from the southern edge of Batumi, so the ride into town is short whichever option you pick. The table below covers every option, including bus 16 to the Turkish border; after it come the two things that catch people out — late arrivals and street-taxi quotes.
Prices verified July 2026 — fares change; confirm on boarding.

Pre-book a transfer| Option | Where it goes | Price | Time | Where to board |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| City bus 10 / 10a | Batumi centre, along the main road | 0.30–1 GEL | 25–40 min | Bus stop on the main road outside the terminal |
| City bus 9 | Batumi, alternative city route | 0.30–1 GEL | 25–40 min | Same roadside stop |
| City bus 16 / marshrutka | Sarpi border crossing (for Turkey) | ≈1.5–2 GEL | ≈25–35 min | Roadside stop, direction away from the city |
| Bolt (app) | Any address in Batumi | 8–15 GEL to the centre | 10–15 min | Order in the app; pickup at the parking area outside arrivals |
| Street taxi | Any address in Batumi | Negotiable — opening quotes of 50–60 GEL are common | 10–15 min | Taxi stand outside arrivals |
| Pre-booked transfer | Door to door, any address | Fixed, quoted when you book | 10–15 min | Driver meets you in arrivals with a name sign |
Bus fares are the weak spot of every published source — reports range from 0.30 to 1 GEL, and no complete first/last-bus timetable for the airport routes is published anywhere. Treat the bus as a daytime option and keep small change or a contactless card ready.
Arriving after 22:00
Do not plan around the bus at night. Published timetables for routes 10, 10a and 9 are incomplete, and evening frequency drops — there is no reliable public last-bus time.
Bolt operates around the clock in Batumi and is usually the cheapest dependable option after dark. Order the car once you have your luggage; pickup is at the parking area outside arrivals. You will need mobile data or the terminal Wi-Fi.
If you land late in low season, travel with children or just want a guaranteed car, pre-book a transfer: the driver monitors the flight and waits even if you are delayed.
Street taxis: know the fair price first
Drivers at the airport stand commonly open at 50–60 GEL to the centre. The same ride ordered through Bolt costs 8–15 GEL. That gap is the whole story — check the app price before you talk to anyone.
If you do take a street taxi, agree the total in GEL before getting in. Quotes in dollars or euros are a bad sign.
There is no meter culture at the stand; a quoted number is an opening bid, not a tariff.
