How to get from Batumi Airport to the city
The airport sits about 2 km from the southern edge of Batumi, but how long the ride into town takes depends on what you pick. The table below covers every option, including bus 16 to the Turkish border; after it come the two things that catch people out — late arrivals and street-taxi quotes.

Bus fares are the weak spot of every published source — reports range from 0.30 to 1 GEL, and no complete first/last-bus timetable for the airport routes is published anywhere. Treat the bus as a daytime option and keep small change or a contactless card ready. City bus 9 is a city route that passes along the airport road rather than terminating at the airport, so its stop may not be the one used by 10 and 10a — check locally before you rely on it. The airport publishes 20 minutes for bus No10; the range above is wider because it counts waiting at the stop and summer traffic.
Arriving after 22:00
Do not plan around the bus at night. Published timetables for routes 10, 10a and 9 are incomplete, and evening frequency drops — there is no reliable public last-bus time.
After dark Bolt is usually the cheapest dependable option, and it is usually available in Batumi at night too — but there is no guarantee: check that cars are showing in the app before you rely on it. Order the car once you have your luggage; pickup is at the parking area outside arrivals. You will need mobile data or the terminal Wi-Fi.
If you land late in low season, travel with children or just want a guaranteed car, pre-book a transfer: the driver monitors the flight and waits even if you are delayed.
Street taxis: know the fair price first
Drivers at the airport stand commonly open at 50–60 GEL to the centre. The same ride ordered through Bolt costs 8–15 GEL. That gap is the whole story — check the app price before you talk to anyone.
If you do take a street taxi, agree the total in GEL before getting in. Quotes in dollars or euros are a bad sign.
